Residential and Commercial Services, Energy Management Services, Customer Electronics, Security and Fire Services, and Communications Services
We specialize in all things metal, our services include fine art, custom fabrication, welding services, powder coating, CNC plasma cutting, steel sales.
Our one of a kind art work is cut from cold steel, each design is a creation of the artists mind. It is then hand ground and burned or painted to create a beautiful combination of color, depth, and design. We then powder coat each piece to give the art a durable shine that can go any where.
We also do fabrication work and are dedicated to being the most reliable place to come get something fixed or made.
We have two designers who are here to satisfy – any company logo, family seal, or just custom idea you have we will design it and create the piece you dreamed of.
We also make fire pits to fit any different space, color scheme, and decor. Each pit is coated in a powder coat of your choosing so that it will hold up against the elements, it will be the perfect fit for even the most crammed patios, with any color of glass available and an easy propane or natural gas starter
We even install.
Southwest Farm to Yarn Collective is a non-profit, grassroots organization of fiber producers, fiber artisans and fiber enthusiasts that collaborated on the formation of a sustainable fiber hub in the Four Corners area of southwest Colorado. This organization is here to support your enthusiasm and desire for locally-grown fibers processed into yarns (either hand-spun or mill processed) and local artists’ finished products.
Yarns, rovings and finished products, from alpaca and sheep (churro, rambouillet, and others), are available for purchase at our store located in Cortez, Colorado. We also sell notions.
Stop by the shop and share your fiber enthusiasm– and stories — with us.
For over thirty years Southwest Seed has been growing along with the environmental and reclamation movements in order to give our customers the very best in products, information and full service.
What does full service mean?
We begin by producing as much of our own seed as possible on our 700 acre farm in Montezuma County, Colorado. We grow over 40 different grass and wildflower species. When a released variety is produced, like Arriba western wheatgrass or Redondo Arizona fescue, the field is certified by the Colorado Certified Seed Growers Association. Non varietal fields are generally source identified and sold with a yellow certified tag giving the location and elevation of the collected starter seed.
Next, we have a state of the art conditioning plant where newly harvested seed is cleaned and made ready for customer use. Conditioned seed is tested at either a state seed lab or a private AOSCA certified lab. All seed sold is tested. We make no in-house guesses.
Many of our customers are not familiar with the multitude of species and varieties available today. Our friendly, expert advice is always a phone call away to answer questions such as: “What would be native in my area?” or, “What is available this year and is also cost effective?” or even, “Help, where do I start?”.
Our service begins in the production fields and continues on to include advice on how to prepare a seedbed and when and how to plant the seed. Making it rain is perhaps the only service we do not offer.
