The Cortez Area Chamber of Commerce is a membership-driven organization focused on increasing and sustaining economic vitality in the Cortez Area and Montezuma County. Its’ mission is to strengthen business to promote a prosperous community.
Through membership services, the Chamber works to accomplish this mission by meeting a wide variety of member needs. These include: networking, advertising, education & training, small business resources and logistical support. In addition, the Chamber believes it is important to celebrate our members achievements which it does throughout the year. Advocacy for members is key and, with hundreds of requests for information a year, the Chamber is well positioned to promote our members and the benefits of the Cortez Area.
Events: We support all Cortez and surrounding area events either by promotion, participation, or both.
Representation: We attend community events, official meetings, and other networking opportunities representing the business interests of the Cortez business community.
Communication: We work with local news agencies to provide information of interest to the community regarding local events, promotions, and visitor information.
Collaboration: We work with Mesa Verde Country, other area Chambers, the City of Cortez, Cortez Retail Enhancement Association, Montezuma Community Economic Development Association, and Region 9 to strengthen relationships between the business community and these organizations that impact them.
Raffle Licensure: We maintain the only raffle license in town that can be used by nonprofits who do not have their own.
