Please include a brief description of why you believe the person, organization, and /or business is deserving of recognition and who they are nominated by (self nominations are gladly accepted). Cortez Journal’s Citizen of the Year-Citizen of the Year has made a significant contribution to the community quality of life through their involvement in any of a variety of community activities to include charity, youth, educational, patriotic, religious, or other like activity.  This award may reflect current contributions or those made over a period of time.

Dad & Daughter’s Agribusiness of the Year-Presented to a business or individual who has demonstrated exceptional performance in the agribusiness sector, including farming and ranching, education, government service and other agribusiness-related areas. _____________________________________________________________________________________


Empire Electric’s Green Business of the Year-Celebrating excellence in environmentally friendly practices, strategies and/or products. Recognizes the most innovative, ambitious, or effective green initiatives for achieving sustainability and implementing energy efficiency measures to reduce the company's energy usage. _____________________________________________________________________________________


The Four Corners Character Council's Volunteer of the Year - The Volunteer of the Year Award recognizes someone who is consistently a positive role model, who demonstrates strong leadership qualities and who has contributed to the community individually or as part of a team. Individuals who inspire others through their own initiative, enthusiasm and commitment.



Dolores State Bank Honors an “Unsung Hero”-Recognizes a person who makes a substantial yet widely unrecognized or uncelebrated social impact.  An unsung hero acts nobly and challenges others to believe in something more.
